Ballard Garage
The client family wanted to activate their backyard and increase their social living area by reimagining an old 370 square foot detached garage. To make a strong direct connection to the house the corner of the garage was opened with two large folding window walls oriented toward the main house back door pathway to the garage.
The economical refresh included cleaning and sealing the existing concrete slab and adding new painted gypsum wall board on the inside of the exterior walls. All other existing interior surfaces were simply painted. Storage needs were met with new casework that also provided new shop work benches. Two new skylights bring in the sky from above.
