Tribeca Loft
This urban penthouse loft located in the heart of Tribeca in New York was designed as a pied-a-terre for the owners who balance living on both East and West Coasts. Located on the top two floors of a six-story historic building built in 1920, the design aimed to maintain the spirit of the historic structure with a modern warmth that feels timeless not trendy.
In keeping with a classic New York loft, we aimed to keep the open loft-like vibe in the front portion of the loft. The double height volume and open living, dining and kitchen areas open to a terrace facing the street. To juxtapose that experience in the back are the cozy bedrooms that open to covered terraces which feel more like a retreat.
A purposefully subdued palette of layered gray furnishings throughout infuses warmth and tangible calmness. The owner’s eclectic collection of furnishings, objects and art were woven with the architecture to provide a meditative escape from the busy city below.
