House of Eve
Restaurant owner, Mikaya Benedict teamed with Mutuus Studio and GMD custom to design and build a female founded restaurant where the cuisine colors a garden inspired interior. Located in the busy South Lake Union urban neighborhood blocks from the iconic Seattle Spheres and Seattle Space Needle. The project is a 1,789 square foot tenant build out in a street level corner in a new 8 story concrete, steel and glass curtain wall building built in 2017.
Our client's vision from the very first design meeting was that the design colors would be from the food and drink at a central bar as the center stage. The muted naturally toned materials were intentionally subtle to allow the vibrant colors of the food and drink to be the focus of the performance in a sultry garden escape at the intersection of 8th Ave and Blanchard.
The curved bar canopy architecture responds to the urban neighborhood context and pulls you in. Perforated metal column wraps create a light industrial scrim that lets you read the building architecture within. The perforated Mutuus Made light pendants provide the final detailed glow to the complete the landscape to lighting integrated signature of Mutuus Studio.
